I’ll have to check this out, I also was put off by the preview a bit, but hard to say no after these reviews. Added to my list guys, thanks.

It isn't a perfect show but I definitely recommend it if you like the horror genre. It managed to be scary/creepy through the atmosphere and music over jump scares. Not that it didn't have a few jump scares but that's a given in the horror genre.

I love how Netflix managed to pull off multiple solid horror shows. Granted most of them came from the same person lol.

I hope they don't drag it out over multiple seasons and give it a solid ending though.

Nah this is a new girl I've never even heard of before this.

The guy who did Haunting of Hill House did Midnight Mass though which is a solid show if you can get over how monologue heavy it is.

If it follows the podcast it's going to get extremely esoteric. It will likely not, but it would be kind of fun if it did. I'm willing to bet 90% of people would hate it though.

Never understood the "monologue heavy" criticism tbh. Like it's a character driven show.. That's the entire point of it.

Oh I had no problem with it either. I thought it fit well with the entire show but it seemed like a lot of critics weren't fans of the monologues. I thought it was just as good as Hill House and even got my girlfriend to enjoy it who is usually not a fan of horror.

My biggest issue with midnight mass is the characters made uncharacteristically stupid decisions for the sake of the story. Everything else was great though.

Edit: also fuck that puritan lady.

Binged five episodes after work last night, will 100% finish it when I get home today.

I hope this is a one season and done type of show (two at the most). All of the things that make this enjoyable will go out the window if they try to drag it out too long.

Thanks for the recommendation guys, the wife and I are both enjoying it a lot.

I liked midnight mass better too actually , it was cool, it's hard to tell if it's science or super natural at first

It was slow though

Archive 81 could of been much scarier, but the story is okay

It does fall into a smaller budget tv series though, archive 81 starts up good n gets kinda weird, but I don't like horror , so me not feeling super scared was alright

N I'm still curious to see what happens in S2

My girlfriend laughed at me when I told her I get recommendations here lol. But she enjoys pretty much every show I've watched based on this subforum so I will take it.
