Hello, I could use some help figuring out why my wife's laptop speakers are no longer working it's a g5 5587 dell laptop and on the sound icon it has an x

I tried updating the drivers, trouble shooting the real tek audio drivers aswell and it says it's function properly yet it does show the speakers as a listed device...they had been working fine the other day if anyone could please help me with this issue I would really appreciate it thank you! And have a wonderful holiday!

Why don't you take a screenshot and show the speaker/sound icon? Because your description is as if you muted it.

Hi Marcellus,

This often happens with Real Trek drivers, first, disable the audio driver and uninstall it, Reinstall the driver and check for any updates.

Once done, select for which audio device to use, also, when you plug in headphones, does it detect the audio?

Is this issue just for the machine's speakers?

If the issue persists after the full driver reinstallation, let me know and we can troubleshoot further.
