I don't game all that much anymore but wanted to play the new Halo with my friends and when I tried playing, I'm fairly sure it's just telling me my computer is too garbage to run it
Wondering if I could upgrade like my GPU or something or whether I'd need to build a brand new PC in order to play

processor: AMD FX-8320E Eight-Core Processor, 3200 Mhz

motherboard: 970A-D3P

gpu: AMD radeon (TM) R9 270

16 gb ram

1tb ssd

Appreciate any help!
LMK if any other info needed

Reuse the SSD, but get a new PC.

Getting the video card is a bit of a hassle.

Thank you for the response!
The second link for the desktop doesn't include a video card unless I'm mistaken
Not too sure I want to fork out 1k+ to play halo. Is there a cheaper way I could improve my PC or is it a lost cause?

You're first assumption was accurate. You need a better video card at minimum.
However, the video card prices are insane... 2, 3 and 4x retail.
I don't really know an easily workable solution for the vid card issue.

Vid cards seem to be reasonably priced in prebuilt computer, but then you suffer down the road because those computers are prebuilt.

For example, and RTX 3060 is like a $330 card, but look at the prices of the few that are available...

/edit

Here, pick any card and then Google the model and MSRP...

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#sort=price&c=446,447,448,424,499,497,494,506,492,505,493,392,391,445,444,501,495,496,498

An RX 580 MSRP is $200-$230

Ahhhh yes I've heard of this, didn't realize the supply was THAT limited though.
Any minimum card specs I'd be looking for if I were to keep my eyes open for one?

e/ just saw your edit - will check it out. thank you again :)

What's the exact Halo you're referring to. The "new Halo" doesn't do me much good. :-)

Here's the requirements... https://www.windowscentral.com/halo-infinite-pc-system-requirements

Here's the GTX 1660, that they recommend for "medium"...

The EVGA price is the actual price... but you can see what the scalpers are selling them for.
