Is it normal to see notification that d2r start an update everytime i start a new client

when i get the second instance up it says:
"Failed to initialize graphics device. Please ensure your PC
meets the minimum system requirements and your drivers are
up to date."

i got a
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz
16 gb ram
and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

any ideas about how to get over it?

Is there a way to keep settings tied to each client? I modify the graphics settings and then after a close / reopen they're all back to the same.

If you have a shortcut for every client you can run some script to modify this file to configure any setting:
C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected\Settings.json

Not sure if this recently changed. But using legacy graphics on non primary instances gave way better VRAM usage for me yesterday
