I think in terms of viability they both seem to be great options.
As for mines it might not be the most desirable playstyle option in the game. And it can be risky in terms of getting a carpal tunnel syndrome due to an extensive straining of your hand over days or weeks. But this can be fixed by putting the place mines button on a different button such as space bar. Also I found it helpful to use a mouse that has a relatively easy feedback. And because your pushing your mouse over and over, the amount of accumulated weight your hand has to press will be significantly lower as a result.
I will probably play exsanguinate/reap miner yeah. The reason being because mines have some advantages over traps, such as:
Traps are inferior to mines for multiple reasons:
- High costs are a pain to deal with unless you get Slavedriver's Hand
- Delayed damage becomes a major problem in high tier content as you will die a lot because of it
- Mines have a higher front loaded damage and can instantkill bosses. The main attraction to playing mines.
- Mines autoaim, and aiming in this game fucking sucks.
- Mines are reliable to trigger whereas traps need Chain Reaction from saboteur asc.
