because it can still involve the user error i described. i was mentioning it to absolutely exclude this possibility to bring you further in solving the issue. that's how trouble shooting is done (usually)

equip ali first wherever you want and then grief and you have grief in right hand as first weapon to fight with...

you can also look at your character in the field... not the equipment screen... and look at high right hand (don't mess it, when he looks at you ;-) )

Lol, Reminds me of my apprentice, twisting off a elbow without a tri-stand, he just couldn't figure it out.

This isn't the first report I've seen of this. Was a thread just a couple days ago about the same thing but the guy was using Gull dagger instead.

D2R seems to have something broken with dual wielding, not sure what exactly the issue is but hopefully it's that will be brought to blizzard/VV's attention.

As stated. Ive tried every combination of equipping. Ali in right hand first, Ali in left hand first. Ali 2nd in right. Ali 2nd in left. Ive now also tried with a phaseblade grief incase it had something to do with the zerker. Can confirm its still not working. Ali always ends in the main hand.

I quit playing my Zerker due to this same issue. I can bug the equip so the Ali Baba attacks with the Grief speed, but no matter what I do (besides equipping Grief + shield) the offhand is always utilized to attack. Grief just being held pointlessly in the offhand. Pretty annoying.

There’s no answer that I’ve found, on the official forums people have complained about it but no solution to be found.

Check if str/dex stats are enough to actually equip the weapon
Had same issues with Oath/Ali while taking my torch out of inv, somehow could equip but didn't have stats to use it
