Looking at prebuilt because I can't get my hands on any decent gpus. Should I buy an i9 with a 3070 or a i7 with a 3080? Strictly gaming here, no crazy stuff.

if you're pushing 1080p @ 60hz then technically the i9 is better.. in a sense.. but really it's not the best pick.. especially if the cooling isn't the best on this machine.

Really depends. I9 will help with multi tasking as it has hyper threading. The 3080 is going to be able to produce more “eye candy” for your gaming.


Real question is what display are you running, all the 30 series cards will not run at full potential at 1080p unless you are using DSR (rendering the game at higher res and down sampling to native res) the cards are just too fast for 1080p
