Just noticed when using life per attack that when the mob dies, i get 0 each time.

I realise the stat Life per kill exists, but this shouldn't matter. I'm still attacking, shouldn't matter if the mob dies.


Not had that large of a test range, about 100 mobs or so, but for all 100 i got 0 and all the others i got within my range from my item (usually the lower end of 1-3).
Curious on the communities thoughts, whether they think it's a bug or not

yes, but life per attack is not giving you "life per attack" when something dies, it's still an attack.
It's not "life per dealing damage but not killing" is it?

that's correct, according to this logic i can get to level 10 without jubliance and without attacking in solo play. Makes perfect sense.



So short story appears to be it's always been like this, but no-ones cared enough to ask the question?

Since I’ve been playing, yes it has. If none of your equipment has life/mana per kill then your last attack will not provide you any extra hit points.

However, the return is soooo minute I wonder why the concern over such an unimportant stat! If you are that desperate for extra hit points invest in some vitality!

The return would have been enough for me to not need to use my heal charm for levels 10-20, which would have been ideal, as it is unfortunately i did need it.


was more curious as to why it didn't and was even furtherly curious to people defending the way it currently works.

I expected just "Doesn't make any sense, but always been like that" which is the answer which appears to make the most sense and i've only received this precise answer from 1 person

Yeah it’s LS mate, so we need to test everything rather than rely on precise language :P

I agree, logically an attack is an attack whether or not it kills the target, but in practice, attacks which kill the target have never provided life or mana per kill to my knowledge.

This is actually the reason why I don’t consider life or mana per attack useful on lvl 1 or 5 gear but like it starting from lvl 10.

There are some other interesting things like this which go on… lifesteal doesn’t work on spellcasts, but we call spellcasting charms attack charms… and rightly so, because life per attack works with them… :thumbsup:
