Wife and I are getting back into the gym.
Kinda let ourselves go since we have been together (5 years)

Any help towards this would be much appreciated.

Looking for a routine for myself
When I used to go I would just follow my friends routine for building muscle because I wasn’t that large back then

So I need something to follow that is not just running to slim my weight.

I understand cardio is a big thing but I’m a guy that needs a routine laid out to follow.

Will be going to the gym at least 4 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

I am 5 foot 10 inches tall

What I used to be:
185 pounds

What I am now:
270 Pounds

I think if I was in your situation i'd just go back to an upper/lower split.

Something like U/L/R/U/L/R/R or however your days work out. I'd do cardio on my days or when I used to have far too much work do that id just go hit a treadmill in the morning before work and do strength training in the evening after work.

Strength training can induce just as much fat loss as cardio, that does not mean just don't do cardio but I certainly wouldnt look at an all cardio avenue either when it comes to fat loss.
