in general always complete level 1 map for explore the maze equipment slots.

can hunt for gp/well maps until level 10 then whistle to 20-40. or just straight whistle to 20-40.

Generally dont recommend exploring level 10-20 because even a perfect level 10 drop is a max of about 300 fg, a max level 20 drop can max out at 5k or so (140ee dagger/axe)

I also generally opt for not completing maps, if i find a dead end, i'll make a group and then leave the group to reset the map to unexplored to increase my chances of finding EP's


if you happen to get a good map with a tonne of rooms with an event mod like we currently have:
+50% Maximum Room Size

it can be worth finishing the map if you dont need to repeat too many tiles

whistle is faster, explore for maps and objectives and EPs

EDIT: I say yes to a certain degree.

Personal preference:

I solo and will fully explore catacombs from level 1 to 35 (if I start a fresh catacomb @ level 35, I will try to complete it for higher tier map drop).

If I am in the level 40+ range I won't really bother to fully explore it unless I have been lucky navigating it without being "spun" to a location (explored) that is a long distance to unexplored area. You can use the /set easy 1 command to reduce monster (#) encounters when back tracking and use /set easy 0 when you get to the unexplored area.

As for completing Maps (not catacomb), I am sure that everyone completes them.

So it is up to you if you are solo'ing and clearing a catacomb, as for group runs, they have their method of what the group run will do, whether whistle from x to x & then full explore or not.

i just sold a well map for 400 fg. lol

I see a lot of people say whistle spam to 40, what comes after that? Still in my 20s but trying to figure the game out still.

what's a well map? doesn't even show up in ls trading search



I think because around 40 is when lvl 25 req gear starts dropping, plus you're not really 1-shotting anymore, you have to stop to use regen gear. I think EPs also can drop lvl 40 req but I might be mistaken, it's been so long. I think a regular monster can drop 15 levels req lower than it, EPs are either one tier above regular or the same tier as the character. Man I'm still trying to remember what the stats do and everything is telling me something different, lol.

I prefer exploring alone.
When in a team (if my opinion matters) I prefer whistle to 55 and then explore.

I personally have a large amount of guild points and do it more for the small chance of finding something amazing and/or useful

A well map is a map that has +1 or more to evil wells. And when you look up maps in the MP, you have to use certain keywords for them
Theres a thread on here showing which stat line you search for is for each different stat line in maps.

I think I heard about how those sell well and I sold it for 1fg. Would you care to elaborate as to how many evil wells need to be there for a +400 one like yours?

Whistle is better at low level btw. No spam.
