I like Battle Royale(a lot), but its not like it was the end all be all in originality. It has ideas from other stories before it, the core concept has been shown before(the running man, the lord of the flies, Logan's Run, among a few others), and while I really like BR, there are some pretty evident plotholes in it, and the acting wasnt very good, and most of the characters looked one dimensional(maybe not enough time to describe the story from the book in detail).

I binged watched it in like 2 days & really enjoyed it. You have to watch the sub’d version though, the dub’d is awful lol. I thought it was overall done pretty damn well, & was a very entertaining & at times intense watch.

I wouldn’t put it in the top tier of shows like, for example The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, True Detective (S1), however I’d put it in the tier right below that

It definitely isn't a masterpiece but it was very addicting and entertaining.
