I can’t see anything concrete

there’s obviously a americas region with individual geographical servers for each area that falls under that umbrella, e.g us east, west, south america, Canada and Australia fall under the Americas (to the best of my knowledge)

How is it determined which server will be used? Using myself, an Australian, as an example. Say if I want to play with 7 other people from North America, how is it determined if it’s ran off a East or West US server or the Sydney server?

- does it go off whoever creates the game?
- will it change server in game due to whoever b.net detects the most users are playing from (in this example a us server)?
- can their be multiple servers in each game and therefore the individual player will get whatever server is best/closest for them?

Also
- will public us games be viewable to people based in Australia (or some other region?


Throughout the beta I was jumping between 30-220ms latency in game which tells me that servers are interchangeable in game and bnet will alter to whatever best suits the player/party at the time but I’m yet to see any actual announced information on this

When you log in to D2R on PC, you choose which server region you want to play in. Each time you log in, you can pick a different region. Your account data moves around between all regions. I believe the lobby is restricted to showing you whichever region you're currently on and you have to all be on the same region currently to join a friend's game.

Is this confirmed? It obviously wasn’t like this in the beta but it would be nice for it to be this way in the actual launch

There will also be no more US East and US West, there will just be one big US server.

Not sure about the rest of the world though.
