Interesting route deciding to have a buy-in when population of both the forums and the game is declining. I understand that the Skill comp has been sponsored via donations for a long time and that is not sustainable, but that being said, participants numbers can't expect to be improved upon in the long run, especially when removing existing participants from the comp if unpaid (mostly due to awareness of it at all.)

Better off leaving unpaid members as part of the comp and only pay-out to those who have paid for the week rather than remove unpaid member engagement entirely.

e/ But where credit is due, I do like the templeosrs layout and understand the reasoning behind the tweaks.

We were debating on what to do and had a poll were the users of the competiton could vote to have a entry fee or not.
And it was desided to make the entry fee.

I get it, but look at the results. 32 total votes for some sort of entry fee, 10 for no fee, yet only 8 people competing. That's under 20% of active voters in the section who are taking part in an event that was designed for community engagement. Not to mention the previous 12 YEARS of "Skill Comps" that have been reset to a new "Week 1" seems inappropriate.

This is the first week. So before we can deside anything really we need to look at resultats.
I get your point.
But im not gonna rule against the poll just because week 1 is a little slow from the beginning. I hope those who voted will step up and join the competition

About the reset to week 1, that is to show that we are starting a new competition so it don't confuse those who might not seen the poll / return after breaks etc.
This was something i been thinking about quite alot as the 631 weeks were very nice. But i hope a fresh start is what we need for this to continue and not simply die out as it was starting to.
This way those in the competition will fight for their rewards and thats what a competition is about
