Hey!

This is an updated guide to checking Signature and Avatar Dimensions across d2jsp. The methods used below can also be used to check the dimensions and file size of personal photo's and other images around the site.

If you need help with editing your signature or avatar use this link: How To Add A Signature And An Avatar

The rules for Signatures & Avatars can be found here: Rules

Quote
Signature Rules and Guidelines (violations may result in loss of rights to have a signature):
1. The entire size of your signature shall not exceed 400 pixels wide by 150 pixels high.
2. Text sections of your signature shall not exceed 6 lines of text if you include no images, and 3 lines of text if you have an image.
3. Total size of the images contained in your signature shall not exceed 70 kilobytes.

The specific rule regarding your Avatar size can be found in your settings when changing your Avatar - Change Avatar
Quote
You can configure your avatar on this page. Your avatar is displayed next to each of your posts.
The maximum allowed size of an avatar is 50 kilobytes.
Inappropriate content is not allowed!

1. Chrome

2. Firefox

3. Microsoft Edge

4. Opera

Thanks to BlindzF, Alexandru and immortalcheese for writing the original guides.

Disclaimer: When using extensions you may get slightly different measurements for the file size. When in doubt, always assume that the larger file size is the correct one and adjust accordingly. It also appears that in Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera the 'Reveal in Sources panel' can sometimes incorrectly pull image file size information from another image on the page. Refreshing typically fixes this, but I recommend using an extension if you are comfortable doing so.

How to check image dimensions and file size - Chrome

Step 1:
Right-click on the image and select 'Inspect'

Step 2:
Right-click the highlighted image link in the 'Inspect' pane and click 'Reveal in Sources panel'

Step 3:
View the Dimensions and File Size at the bottom of the pane

Chrome Extension - Image Size Info

An even easier way to view the image size information is to download a chrome extension. I would recommend 'Image Size Info' which can be found here - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/image-size-info/oihdhfbfoagfkpcncinlbhfdgpegcigf

Step 1:
Right-click the image and choose 'View Info'

Step 2:
The image size information is displayed in an easy to read pop-up

How to check image dimensions and file size - Firefox

Currently there is no way to view the image size information on the latest version of Firefox easily. I recommend using an extension as Mozilla seems to have removed the functionality from the 'Inspect' pane in Firefox in the most recent version.

Recommended extension - Image Data - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-data/

Step 1:
Hovering over any image within Firefox will overlay a box with the dimensions and file size after installation of the extension/addon
