Just found a way to convert P skulls into Cham runes, sigh...

put runes in shared stash
save and exit
return to game
take runes from shared stash to your inventory
take a waypoint from town
open inventory and pick a rune from your inventory
don't drop it anywhere and exit game
when you come back to game your runes are in your inventory and in your shared stash
