this is old news but im just now learning about it. Bought a cheap 4k tv that had 120hz refresh rate to game on thought it was a great deal but come to find out its a native 4k 60hz that "upscales" the refresh rate through a bunch bullshit lies called clear motion index(cmi)which is basically a motion blur effect. tcl 50s425 is the model number of my fake 120hz tv for anyone who wishes to avoid this common trap that i wasn't really aware of till now. unfortunately I'm now stuck with the tv even though im angry about essentially being lied to I only play my games at 4k 60fps with vsync enabled (i think the image quality is the best) and the tv still has amazing performance and image quality. Clear motion index (cmi) is not the same as native refresh rate and the lie that these scumbags are presenting to consumers is nothing short of the pathetic reality we all live in today. nobody will keep these scumbag electronics retailers honest anymore you really need to double check your hardware and test ever single damn spec after you get it. There are few tvs with a native refresh rate of 120hz and there are even fewer tvs if any that have a native refresh rate of 240hz.

It did list out the spec as 120Hz CMI effective refresh rate, but yeah too many marketing terms that would mis-lead consumers.
However, TV still has input lag, so it is still recommended to use a PC monitor for gaming. This is why TV screens relatively cheaper than PC monitors.
