I'm not really in a rush to upgrade my computer, but I plan on getting a new one in maybe 4-6 months since my current one is on its last leg. I never bought high-end GPUs before and only bought mid-tier GPUs. I'm looking to probably get one for future proofing. Is it worth getting a pre-built right now or are the GPU prices expected to drop within 4 to 6 months?

If you cannot get a GPU to build a custom PC, it would be better to buy a prebuild.
Due to the fact that prebuild with high-end GPUs would be more cost efficient than buying GPU from resellers.

GPU prices would not drop in 4-6 months, the supply shortage wouldn't be alleviated until 2022 with the demand for PC.

You can buy an Alienware Aurora R10 with 5600x and rtx 3070 for $1600, probably the best deal currently.

Not a chance GPU prices drop within a year. There's just too much demand and not enough silicon being produced. Everything is at max capacity and has been for almost a year now. It's just not happening.

I'd say buy a prebuilt. My mother in law got one on Amazon and got a 3070 with it. It took a few weeks to get, but 3 weeks and it arrives at your door is better than waiting for hours outside of microcenter and hoping you get it.

How much did the prebuild cost? I guess it would be cheaper if not similar to buying a 3070 from scalper.
You got a pretty cool mother in law btw.

if the case is shit then just buy the prebuilt and transplant it in a better case, if you had to buy this computer due to parts availability

10700k + 3070 are well matched, ram is sufficient (could be upgraded but if price is concern then ignore), 1tb ssd is good
