I've put a little thought into this and I was like what's the laziest option blizzard can do that isn't just delete your shit? The answer is all the extra shit that won't fit drops on the ground as soon as you enter your first game. That's what I'm betting on

yeah or hopefully give you an icon to click so you could choose when this happens but not access the items until you use it, that way you would atleast have some control over the item dump.

They mentioned that they would have linked items for trading. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were mailed your items like D3.

Hah, finally a topic with an interesting question
Probably they will just add a different page for it when the ladder resets

Gheed will get those items so that he has something to hand out to characters who gamble from him in the upcoming ladder season.

Couple ways to think about this conflict:

1) What's fair to players

2) What's good for the game

Fair to players is to not make items disappear (obviously). However, if they did make items disappear, it might be good for the health of the game.

Think about this way: It's common for people to be active near the beginning of a ladder reset and then lose interest at some point. If players were told at least once that their ladder shared stash would delete at the end of the season, then anyone who played at some point during the ladder would feel motivated to come back and 'reorganize things' whenever they knew a reset was coming. It would plant the seed in our mind "oh I better log in to make sure I don't lose my items" where we might not have thought to care otherwise. It's the same idea as what players do now, remembering to refresh a character every couple months to prevent expiration. Blizzard wants customers to feel like they have a reason to log in to services and build up the habit of being connected.

Also, just deleting the contents of the ladder stash is probably the lowest effort solution from a coding standpoint (cost cutting measure)

Holy shit a thread with a meaningful well thought question?

Some people have noticed there is clearly room for a third stash tab. Maybe this will be the NL shared stash. Perhaps greyed out on ladder and the ladder one greyed on NL. But yeah then what happens at reset if its full..?

This is the type of shit that makes it clear none of this stuff is easy or can be done in 10 minutes. It will be interesting to see how they solve it.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
