You can bug him in a way that it always has quest drop all the time, which is better than his normal drop
All you need to do for this is to speak to warriv in the same game you killed andariel, so most ppl have this unintentionally anyway

Be surprised how many people DIDN'T bug her, because I know alot of people who after killing Andariel, ran to Akara because they were at 1 hp and poisoned. Never crossed their mind to go to Act 2 first.

Talking to akara or any other npc doesnt prevent the bug

Then there shouldn't be like 100 guides stating you HAVE to talk to Warriv lol. I'd be interested to know what doesn't prevent it then because I've had chars not bugged. She dropped gold and other garbage

Only thing prevents it if you leave the game before talking to warriv.
If you talk to warriv in the same game that you killed andy you already have it

Fun fact:
The probability to find no items is greater with the questdrop, but the items that drop are more likely to be high quality, so questdrops are still better.

Confusion with these guides might be because this is not a simple thing to verify if you have it or not
And some ppl want to be 110% sure about this obviously, thats why they might add extra steps that are not actually needed
