The game is 20 years old. The remaster is going to bring quite a bit of people back.. at least for a time it will be anything but dead.

Hopefully D4 ends up being really really good but I’m not holding my breath

if d2r is done properly the pvp there will be better than D4 probably!
The mechanics and match-ups on D2 are beautiful, but there's also many bugs which can ruin the experience a bit.
