Same reasons most Holidays are corporate Holidays made to bring huge income every X months of the year to keep a $ flow going all year round.
I'm atheist and don't really care if someone's a jew/muslim/catholic as long as he leave me alone with that garbage. I won't bother them with their conviction but don't annoy me with yours or don't force me to do something in honor of your god. Fuck that.
