Frankly (see what i did there), duped jewels were allowed @ MLD noting the purposes of MLD was to compete, in the most economical fashion and as soon as possible. Way back in the day (i mean pre 2012) it was so hard to even find 15ias 30ed jewels that it was obvious to allow it. There were no discussions at MLD re: to allow or not to allow. The purpose of MLD was to duel.
I stayed clear of the 30 rules at all times since there were so many vested interests, which included the duped jewel discussion. Alex removed that rule @ Level 30 some years ago so I am absolving myself of that. I didnt propose it, I am just a caretaker. For all his faults (very difficult to talk to, kept pushing the envelope) he also brought in max 65% block on sorc's which for Fire and Cold (i tweaked out this penalty on light sorcs) - I think this is probably the best and fairest rule addition ever, in favour of melee chars. When you consider that melee characters (in the absence of teleport) need as much as they can get they can get from jewels to compete with casters, and noting the max block rule, i feel this was pretty fair.
Could have just said you were bias towards your own interests in duped jewels for your mld bowa dude!!! The long defence not necessary
