Hello all!

so i have owned this HP Omen for almost 2 years now and when i first got it it was great and did not have many issues playing games. recently i have had many issues with games locking up and not being able to handle anything above lowest settings,

the game i have been playing recently is Path of Exile.

im wondering what i can do to help improve performance.

i have also noticed that it has been running super hot as you will see in the speccy picture i will include. i have just ordered a laptop cooler and that will arrive on friday. im hoping that may resolve some of the issue but i have little hope for it.

if ya need anymore information please let me know!

thermal, need to dissemble and apply new thermal compound.

if nothing then proceed to fresh format with latest drivers.

/edit
oh and clean dust from unit, mostly at fan.

go to youtube and look up guide to disassemble

luckily this model is super user-friendly to dismantle like 16 screws pops off the back and everything is right there. i clean it out pretty regularly. ive been thinking of doing a fresh format just need to move some stuff over to my portable storage other than that i dont really care about whats on it.

do you think a laptop cooler could potentially solve some of the issue?

Laptop coolers aren't solutions, new thermal compound as suggested and you'll be fine if you apply it properly
