yes every 2 weeks is new ladder because you go from new char to fully geared in 4 hours now
each season has unique, interesting perk such as:

-double rift
-double goblin
-double loot
-triple rift
-triple goblin
-triple loot
+50,000% to special season class that sucked last season to promote rotations
