I don't know where you from but Lufia 2 is a prequel to Lufia 1. Lufia 1 was never released in europe and instead 'Lufia 2: Rise of The Sinistrals' was rebranded as 'Lufia'.

I don't want to spoil anything but the story and ending is really good. It's kind of a cult classic.
