LW is a good option for budget ubers, make no difference it cost a lot, in late stage ladder its a viable option despite cost decrepancies

With cost of lw you get Grief + Forti and rest slots filled with uniques

1 fanatism on hammerdin
eq lastwish to do ubers is viable
but for the cost you can make a extra uber smite char

btw pb is only option for lastwish
it dont break and is fast

Is there something specific about Last Wish that makes it bad?

I've never made one due to the fact everyone I've asked says it's not worth it

Lw is great for cb and just switch to grief for the last bit of dmg after cb loses its effectiveness. And im hc so im willing to lose some dmg for tankiness

It not a so called bad item, but rather inefficient for ubers when compared to other items.
Other items outshine it when built properly and even is cheaper.
Lifetap can be obtained from multiple other sources.
You can prebuff fade with treachery if you have trouble with resistances.

Crushing blow @ 70% on the weapon is actually one of the good things about last wish.
However, you can get 50/60% from Goblin Toe / Gores & Guillaume, which is sufficient while having grief equipped.
Easier to reach max attack speed while grief is equipped without the need for attack speed from other sources.

Its really not that far of a stretch. Say it takes 5-10 rolls to get a good dmg/ias grief

One roll for a lw since the only thing thats going to change is the cb and ed and even a low cb and ed lw is fine since you are really only using it to free up helm boots gloves and armor spots

So yeah .. unless you get lucky a nice grief could take a few rolls.

I believe you need at least a 35 ias to hit bp and the whole reson to use grief is for the dmg so a low dmg roll will work but it sucks. So yeah a good grief roll can cost you more than a random lw roll .

And on The topic of gear... Of course you can uber in shit gear . Whats his name did it with all sets... But thats not the topic of the thread is it?

Fact is lw isnt a bad weapon people just think that grief is always better but thats mostly a sc thing. Lw lets you ditch treachery, guli, dracs, and goblins. This allows you to fill those slots with better defensive gear which helps not being dead at the cost of some damage.
