Hey, I'm thinking of getting the nintendo switch to play the classic games that it comes with (subscription) or just using my Nintendo and Super Nintendo and find the games that I want through ebay/garage sales.

What do you guys think is better? Get the switch or stick with what I have?

Id say keep what you have

The classics you get from the subscription is limited and they arent yours to keep, just borrow
But the upside is you can access them even if youre offline

Depending on what you already own, some games might be harder to come by/find or be more expensive to get physically, it could be a hit or a miss but its not like NES games are in circulation anymore

But the switch is definately a great console/device

If you arent hard up on cash, id say buy a switch, but then get a pro controller and even a better controller/grip for handheld mode, I absolutely hate the joy con controllers and bought an after market grip/controller with a d pad, bigger triggers with 2 programmable turbo buttons and its much more comfortable and easier to play games with

Both tbh. But Switch if I had to choose one or other.

How much is the subscription to play nes and snes games?

I feel like it would be more enjoyable to look and find the games I want for my nes/snes. The one worry I have is if the game breaks over time

I think I see that it's $20 a year

Correct, its 20$ for the year..and i wanna say they update the library from time to time but idk, i just bought my switch a couple of weeks ago but i cant put it down

My concern if i was you is not that the game breaks or stops working, but the ancient hardware youre running it on
The NES is infamously known for having major problems with the internal pins that read the cartridges, hence the blinking red light, and in some cases need replacing

If you don't mind spending a good chunk of $$ then yeah get some SNES/NES games.

but the 20$/year subscription is more bang honestly.

you're average snes nostalagia game runs at around 25-50$

They aren't cheap to collect.

I suggest sticking with original hardware and using the Everdrive. You can put many games on it. You can find it on stoneagegamer.com

I own both the NES and SNES flash carts and they are excellent.
Original hardware > emulation
