seems weird to slap 16gb on the mid range "budget-ish" card, or all of them at all. would have expected to see 12-14-16gb scaling to entice people to get the higher models if they're serious about pushing 4k.

Isnt it amd trademark? Lol iirc their 570-590 series all had 8gb not so sure about last gen since i didnt buy one but i guess its the same

the 290/x had 4gb or 8gb
it's optional

maybe they're just trying not to flood the market with too many sku's
imagine oem rx 6800 with optional 12gb or 16gb, but in 5 different models through sapphire, powercolor, xfx, asus... etc
would be a nightmare
