I was curious about thoughts on diy meal replacements.

I am looking for something quick and easy for my lunch. Goals of it would be to save on money, calories, time, and help loose/ control weight. I am about 25 lbs over my target weight.

I saw somewhere about doing soy milk, 1 scoop whey protein, and psyllium husk powder as a meal replacement. All this is readily available to me, but was curious to get an opinion.

Chicken, rice, vegetables. Quick, easy, cheap.

You probably eat like shit so adding a protein shake as a “meal replacement” isn’t going to help.

Also, lol @ soy milk.

I don’t typically eat too bad. Pretty sure beer is like 90% of my problem.

Typical lunches include chicken, rice, beans, avocado, green onion, cheese, lite vinaigrette.

Dinner is a bit more random because I have to feed my 2 little kids half the time. Generally veggies, a protein, and a starch. But we do get pizza, and takeout 1-2 times a week.

What’s wrong with soy? I’m not defending it, just curious

general idea is soy = estrogen
if in moderation, it won't kill you

i drank 1l of soy milk every day for 6months just for testing this BS anti vegan dogma info and nothing happened to me. theres nothing wrong with soy milk :^D anyways, depending on your macros, i drink a gainer every morning + lunch since i never really feel like eating in the morning

put this in a mixer;

4 eggs
4DL oatmeal
2 x table spoons of peanutbutter
1L milk
2DL proteinpowder of your choice (chocolate is the best in my opinion)

takes literally 5 min for 2 meals

let me know how it works

edit; mix the 4 eggs first. trust me, it'll feel better drinking it

Yoghurt, oatmeal, eggs, banana, frozen fruit, milk or water depending on caloric goals. Blend and enjoy.

Simple calories good food.

Want more calories increase eggs, or add peanut butter, want less take out or reduce oatmeal or use water over milk.

Get yourself a bullet and a few extra liter cups for it. The medium ones that come with it are not big enough for a meal replacement Imo.

this

put dry ingredients in first (oatmeal, i also prefer granola cereal, hemp/chia seeds, etc) and blend

and voila, you have transformed your blender into a food processor

then add wet ingredients of course

also this ^ also OP whenever putting foods with protein in it be sure to rinse the blender as soon as you are done as it will turn into concrete within 1 hour xD
