I think and understand that no, I can't
Because will spawn 2 affix, and level req will be at least 31
Trev/snipa feel free to correct my math if i am wrong, but i believe that this is possible....
I think what people typically get confused about is that in order to calculate the results of a potential craft you need
2 formulas:
The first formula is all about the final lvl req the of the craft. As snipa has pointed out, that formula looks like this:
req lvl of craft = req lvl of highest mod + 10 + (3 x # of mods). So in the example of a pair of ias gloves, you want 10% ias, which has an affix level of 20 (and a character level requirement level or "Rlvl" of 15 because alvl 20* 0.75 =15)
If you plug that into the equation you get this: 15 + 10 + (3 * 1) = 28 level req. So assuming that only the ias spawns on the crafted gloves, it will be lvl 28.
If for example, the gloves spawned with 2 mod (ias + an affix with an Rlvl equal to or less than 15) , the result would be lvl 31 (15 + 10 + (3 * 2)
So TLDR, The math in this step is basically all about "can i get that mod or mods for my level req" but doesnt give you any guidance on how to actually roll it. Just that it is technically possible. The second formula is all about the crafted item's input parameters such as character crafter level and input item's ilvlThat equation looks like this:
Crafted items final ilvl = (0.5 * character level, result rounded down) + (0.5 * input items ilvl, result rounded down)since we want the highest chance for only 1 mod, we want to spawn a craft with an final ilvl under 31.
So Trevs math was essentially, (0.5 * 32) + (0.5 * 20) = ilvl 26. Meaning the ilvl is high enough to roll 10% ias mod, but low enough to roll only 1 mod most of the time.
But his math was based on chain gloves shopped in norm act 2 (which are capped at ilvl 20).
Now to answer your question:To use sharkskin gloves, the math gets even more complicated because now your starting item's base ilvl is much higher, so you would need to compensate by purchasing and rolling the gloves on a lower level char.
The catch here though, is that in order to get sharkskin gloves at a low enough level, you will have to gamble them. Gambling allows you to purchase items with a level req plus/minus 5 levels of the purchaser's level. So you should be able to gamble them on a lvl 21 - 23, but this will take you ages to do since exceptional versions don't show up all that often.
Math would look like this: Purchase on a lvl 23 (allows you to buy lvl 25 req sharkskin gloves that have an input ilvl of 39)
Then when you roll the gloves ilvl = int(.5 * clvl) + int(.5 * ilvl) as per above.
So (0.5 * 23) + (0.5 * 39) = resulting ilvl of 30, allowing you to get 1 mod most of the time.
TLDR, i believe that it is mathematically possible to do, but it would be much more time consuming process to collect all of the input glove materials. Any sane person would choose Trevors method, especially if you plan on bulk rolling these
