Hey everyone!
After my Sorceress died recently, I thought about something new that I haven't tried before - a Paladin with no offensive "spells"/"attacks".
That means as a restriction I block out every Combat skill besides holy shield. I am not allowed to use a skill from the combat tree to fight enemies.
BUT - and this is important - I may use skills of items.
Short example:
I am using an Aura such as holy fire and Zeal because I wear a szepter that has +2 Zeal on it.
I am using conviction Aura and Vengeance because I have Kingslayer in my Hands
General other settings:
Players 8 HC for progressing
Reruns at any Player setting
Ladder runewords via text
NO plugy or extended stash
The Passive aspect made the name here - anyone knowing the pacifist build knows that this one doesn't attack at all so this is obviously way different.
I wanted to try this because running a regular Zealer or Avenger or whatever Paladin seems too easy.
With this restriction to only use Auras and very low level skills from + skills off of my gear it makes things a little harder.
I guess I will run normal with holy fire blindfolded using normal attacks or +1-3 to Zeal on any bullsh szepter but then it might be hard.
Especially bosses where I need cb, whenever I switch to a runeword with crushing blow, the base itself must either be a szepter with Zeal, Smite or whatever or I can simply not use that and have to do normal attacks.
The lack of attack rating will result in me using conviction at some point I guess.
Since I have plenty of points left, I am kind of interested in running a Fana/Conviction combination with toggling either aura on and off a lot but I am not sure how annoying this is to play
Further this leaves space to skill synergies that one couldn't skill as high using the actual skill (maxed ovbviously) such as vengeance.
Let's see where this results in. I will play the game in GERMAN Language as I am too lazy to get the settings changed.

I definitely forgot something and I will also translate certain items right above the screenshot so nobody has to use page one as a dictionary.
Now let's get it on! I hope you can help me out with a few ideas what skills I should be looking out for or what runewords are interesting with their skills or charges.
