I think abortion is yucky. I want people's material circumstances to be such that nobody should abort a child from financial issues, or as a consequence of rape, or because they weren't educated about birth control, or because birth control wasn't available, etc.

But I'd never deny an abortion to somebody who is less than 25 weeks because it's also yucky to take away people's bodily autonomy without a very good reason, and a non-conscious entity growing in them doesn't have enough moral weight to justify taking that away.

Id like to see some anit-abortion people at 18 and 19 put in a situation where all of a sudden one day you get an "oh fuck" call while you're rolling into your driveway after finishing your fast food shift and see how much the stance changes.

I know i'm thankful to not have a ten year old right now. I was in no position in my life to offer that kid a remote chance of success. 11 years later I would do nothing different.

im of a similar mindset. i think abortion should be avoided as much as possible (exceptions for the usual circumstances, rape/incest/could kill the mother) but at the end of the day the law says its choice and that’s probably a good thing. then again every pro-choice person was born to someone who valued life over personal ‘freedoms’.

the odd phenomenon that rarely gets discussed is the man wants the child but the woman doesnt. that would be a doozy to be in
