I just thought of this metaphor.

A relationship is literally just like living in your city for too long.

lets say you live in a city for 17 years, you get to know everything about it, you figure out the best parts of it and it doesn't excite you anymore...

it's just like a relationship that you've been in for 4-10-25-50 years

if you don't spice things up, it'll always be the boring old thing. And that is why relationships don't work. People don't take the time to learn more and dig deeper into their city/relationship to find more exciting things to do/talk about.

always gatta keep it spiced up. Dig deeper to find want you're truly searching for. Put in the effort, time, expense, love, devotion, etc.

my father lived in the same city for 50 years, but the only places he visit is his workplace, our house, and a few of his favourite restaurant, and occasionally he visit his old friends. He is quite happy about it.

I think some people likes stability instead of uncertainties.
