That is not true. Venom lords have 50 cold res and doom knights have 20 cold res. Diablo has 50 cold res, mephisto has 75 cold res, duriel has 95 cold res and andariel has 66 cold res. You definitely want to max cold mastery.

I recommend u to get at least 1 point into teleport

although here I am not an expert, maybe in HC people dont use it

I made it to hell CS and cleared it at level 69 players 1 difficulty. Officially Queen Tierra lol. I basically followed the build you have in your video (orb/hydra/TS) and it worked out pretty well. But it definitely isn't easy and I don't know if i can farm CS consistently on hardcore without a mishap lol.

Right now I have shard, 49 res ward, iratha helm, angelic ammy/armor/x1ring, 56 mana 22cr/8pr 4 dex ring, 17fhr/36 life/20fr/15pr belt, magefists, 30frw/10fhr/40cr/35lr/22mf boots

717 life
420 mana
75 all res
32 psn (max with antidote)

My ES is at 45% with prebuff and monsters still hit pretty hard. Especially those dumb cold immune mages even when I use thawing and antidote potions.

The most damage is going to come from oblivions. Maxing resists is important, and even a stack like full iratha gives is nice.

But the bone spirits can be really annoying. Not much you can do other than getting as much life as possible and using a manageable amount of ES.

The best way to tank oblivions is to be able to take them out fast and efficiently, which is where you run into trouble with hydras,

For purely CS sorc firewall can be considered itll do more dps and dont have to worry about auto targeting, but it's less versatile than hydras

FYI speedrunners when doing sorc hell runs, they use blizz + fire wall, not orb + fire wall. And they complete hell at lvl 60, thats when orb is supposed to be the strongest compared to blizz due to low skill points available. So there is strong empiric evidence pointing to the fact that blizz in a dual element tree is possibly superior to orb.

IMO Meteor or firewall is better then hydras... mainly because you can’t aim hydras this might work well for /players 1 but I like to run my walkthrus on p8 and it takes a lot longer to kill the non cold immunes and hydras would always attack the wrong shit

UPDATE:

I cleared hell cs a few times with orb/hydra but I think I need to reset my map or something because the boss packs have been insane. At least every other run I have to s/e. Fana extra fast with champion oblivion packs around seis and/or infector seals. I feel like if I had a good map with a relatively clear CS I'd feel more comfortable but still tough. Hydras seem to be working pretty well especially when I can static but I may switch to firewall to see how it compares. I tried switching gear to Iratha's set and max out my res to 85 all but I lose a lot of life, mana, FHR and a skill point in doing so and the survivability felt about the same. The runs go about as smooth as it would for a speed runner but I feel like with optimized gear it should feel safer? idk. It's hard to solo Hell CS in classic with a sorceress lol. Especially HC. I've yet to find someone make it look easy. But I guess it isn't meant to be tho right? Might just go make a hammerdin lol.

Firewall indeed probably is more damage, but I find hydra more fun/easier to use.

I switched to firewall and I gotta say the kill speed is much better. I found a couple item upgrades and reset my chaos map and the runs are much smoother/quicker. But I agree, the hydras were fun and easy to use.
