Just so you know, popout sig are -extremly- ugly (up to taste) when it comes to gif. The size limit of a signature is 70kb here, leaving you with almost no room for quality.

Also, GIF doesn't take well transparent background compared to PNG. Which leaves the signature with alot of hard edges and low quality.

As I said, up to preferences, but if you want something animated out of the sig, probably won't even be possible. The only animation possible would be in the limits what isn't part of a transparent background (Like the Name fading in and out that everyone posts). Otherwise you'll see lots of white edges and extremely "un-smooth" sig.
