In most situations, you are right.
But the first pack of frenzy minotaurs with extra strong (or might), while being cursed (-100% physical res), will destroy you.

If you want to rely on defense, try with Fortitude weapon (+200% defense).

My best attempts for total immortality were with :
- cold sorceress with shiver/chilling armors, TS and many items with %ctc when struck (dealing noticable damage with synergies/masteries),
- blade shield assassin. The trick is blade shield uses leech, so you can heal more than you are damaged.
But in both cases, I'll have to recast cold armors or blade shield every 5 minutes or so.

If you allow the use of mercenary, then just make a good one, and he will kill all targets with you AFK.
If you allow summoner ... there's no challenge at all !

yea i havent considered a merc because he most likely die unless he has some incredible lifesteal and aura buffs, pretty sure he dies to ubers or vipers or anything that has high damage
summons are not allowed as they are considered prebuff and even then what skellies will eventually die to beefy pack of moonlords, so idk about that.

Resists dont really matter on items since you can easily stack that with annie torch and scs
-100 -125conviction = -225% to get to 0 +75% = 300% + 20%max resist = 90%

anya quest 30%
torch 20% takes 2squares
anni 20% takes 1square
40 inventory squares - 3= 37 free squares to fill up with scs
each sc is 5all res/20life x 37 = 185 %
30+20+20+185 = 255%
300 - 255 = 45% is how much resists you need from gear which is very easy to get

I have done some tests with blade shield and it's amazing with life leech.



I only had 50%dr there, nothing more fancy.

High level skeletons (with IG and mercenary) are never in danger ! But you can discard them if your rule is not using allies.

Fortitude vs HotO is not an obvious choice of course. This could require some tests.

My assassin uses :
Grief (PB)
Fortitude (AP)
Phoenix (Monarch)
+2 / leech circlet
Highlord's
Soul drainer gloves
min/ar/leech rings (x2)
String of Ear
Gore boots
ar (max-ar) / life charms

precast (weapon switch) : 2 x claws, for higher blade shield and venom.

She seems to kill much faster ...

Yea just did some quick testing, under these stipulations, I am pretty certain it is impossible. Not being able to interact with the game + the durability requirements means there are very few gear options to even test.

There will always be at least one scenario in which you cannot survive when extrapolated in the long run.

What kind of assa do you make that uses grief?
I was testing something different from this topic. She is a dual claw kick assa to kill ubers, i was testing the benefits of blade shield when you are sorrounded by monsters.

Blade shield uses weapon damage (divided by 4). Grief is by far the best 1-hand weapon as far as damage is concerned.
Also 20% DS applies, PMH and ignore defense, and life bonus after each kill...

My weapon does not damage



So monsters were dying because venom.
