You'd have to pay for sandboxie to load more than +1 game. But manually playing 1 toon and loading 7 others to sit doesn't really count as legit tbh.

But, if you think you're playing legit then so is everyone else

Defining it as 'what blizzard allows' is a bit disingenuous.

Players 8 chars manually is definitely 'more legit' than running scripts.

The dude with 1 key, manually playing is technically legit.
It's just not populated enough on server, or feasible to level 95+ this way.

Activision blizzard holds all rights and hosts the servers, this has nothing to do with vanished develepors from 20 years ago, we all want them back. Activision blizzard tells you what is allowed on their servers and what isn't. From that point of view it's clearly regulated that multiple d2s via VM or sb are tolerated, but bots aren't.
There is no other guideline you can stick to. Everything beyond that is a moral issue that everyone answers differently. Where is the line? Exploiting bugs makes you unlegit aswell? Be careful with not questbugging andy then.
I don't care what people use and what not, but the definition of legit is clear to me by reading the terms and conditions.

I would argue that Blizz do not regulate the servers properly to control bots.
And because of this its upto players/community to define what is accepted as legit.

It's just not worth the effort for a 20 year old game. Nevertheless forbidden. It's like stealing a lollipop in a self-service shop without anyone noticing or caring.



There is no consensus about that, that's why we are having this discussion. Because of that iam sticking to what Blizzard says, even though they don't execute their rules properly.

I think there is a consensus. Which is using VM's is not what majority of players consider legit play for the ladder.
It is however preferred to botters, and widely accepted as the only way to play on low pop. servers.

That said, I personally would support players using this method as opposed to running scripts.

Also, sticking with what blizz says is like saying
'ah yes theres a hole in that boat, but I'll climb aboard anyway'

Using anything and playing in the current patch is what I call garbage

Using loader = garbage, unless it's a bo sitter with 6 other human players, I also dont care if it's a laptop, sandbox or other method it's all the same to me
Using restats =garbage
Playing a patch that doesnt have IM and lower resist= garbage
