Is this just a media campaign? Panic is slowly beginning in my country. people buy out rice, pasta, toilet paper etc.

Turn off the TV or every media. The store where you buy food etc. are open with food "available" but thanks to some people sometimes you don't find what you need.

you can go out for important work reasons or if you need to get food or medicinals
the "work reasons" are a little fewer now since almost every company is closed

You are not really "in prison", anyway the situation is not shining at all

just keep in mind that in the town where i live (around 11k people) there is an average number of 120 dead people every year... in the last 14 days 80 people died

(in about 2 weeks we had 2/3 of the standard dead people we use to have in a whole year)

in other words, you CAN go out for important reasons, but it's not really that wise

Are these death rates because Italy’s population is very much aged and younger folks have been leaving the country in drones over the past 10-20 years? Or is Italy seeing an even distribution of deaths by age?
