How is Trump's behavior highly corrosive? Be specific.
By polarizing the media along partisan lines, meaning that media reporting on political malfeasance or corruption will not translate to an appropriate punishment at the ballot box.
And by weakening the trust of the public in the media and political news coverage in general. Just to be crystal clear: they deserve it, the MSM has not been fully trustworthy going back decades, and has lost any remnant of credibility during the Trump era. Trump is right: these outlets are enemies of the people. Undermining trust in the media is both inevitable and the right thing to do in the current times. Nonetheless, an unfortunate side effect is that the power of the classical media/classical journalism has gone down since no persuadable voter buys their crap anymore. This development is well-justified, and it would actually be a
worse outcome if the people still trusted the MSM - but this development nonetheless weakens the fourth estate.
