Hi all,

Recently I was banned for playing d2 at my corporate office on their internet. I was unaware that using a business IP was not allowed and had to sit out 2 weeks before I could play again.

Now I'm wondering if I can work around it by using my mobile hotspot with my laptop at work so I can still play at work but not technically be on their internet.

Does anyone have any experience with trying this out? I'm afraid to do it and get another 2 week ban. Let me know :)

Your phone hot spot should work as it would be considered a private IP, I’d possibly look into legal residential proxy services as an alternative as well.

it's perfectly fine, and diabloII use close to no data.

Used it when I moved from flats to flats for 3 month. 7 Char + a classic rusher. Also I had a data restriction of max 50kb/s, D2 was still working perfectly fine.

1 IP, and 1 IP only. No, you may not, as THAT violates Blizzard's ToU regarding ban evasion.

He’s not doing ban evasion, his temp suspensions already over. It was a 2 week temp due to the bad IP, and technically it’s not even a “ban”.

If you have a dynamic ip it could change 7 times in a day.

FWIW Mobile Hotspots tend to use the same IP address each time.

I've used one to play d2 successfully.

If service drops to 2 bars or below, prepare for ping to spike into the 500-1600 ranges

BS! There's nothing about "1 IP" or "ban evasion" in Blizzard EULA.
