I usually just start with a vague idea of what i want to do, and then use my trusty ballpointpen as gently as possible to put in some basic, but almost invisible guidelines to define the most important shapes i want to incorporate in the drawing. Then i slowly build on that with harder and more defined lines to basically "hide" the temporary guide lines i made previously. Other times i just put my pen down on the paper and switch off my brain so i can let my hand do all of the work. Which is nice because this particular style is very forgiving in terms of improvisation; small errors and mistakes are easy to hide with some wrinkles or weird skin deformations, and the rough, often sketch-like and random lines are perfect for the grotesque deformations featured on my characters.
Ofcourse it's important to mention that i have drawn for as long as i can remember, and my actual job involves a fair bit of creativity, so although i am not a top level artist, this kind of stuff wouldn't be possible for me to do without that experience. So keep practicing!:)
Here's another 2 drawings i made!
