the only way they can profit long term like how jsp has done with d2 is to implement a built in item shop to substitute for jsp, you think that would make things easy for us to trade but the only way they can profit long term is by people buying game currency from the shop making it pay to win anyway
on the other hand in game item trades would be ideal for players but blizzard cant profit from those trades without taking a cut somewhere, also in order to trade both parties would have to be online at the same time to meet up and trade ect and how would you advertise items you want to buy or sell in game? unless there is some kind of trade post boards in game or something? i think the idea of some items being trade-able and some items being account bound could be the right way to solve problems if they can do it right
