2 paths basically. max hammer with situational charge. or balanced hammer and charge damage, generally refered to as a libby.

a libby uses about 20x 3max/xxar/15 lifers, 20x life/mana scs. an hdin uses all mana scs, or is just too poor and uses a bunch of plain 15 lifers.

skull socket choices, vs max dmg. partisan insight vs runestaff insight.

etc.

both can do quite well, and even with minimal +max a runestaff charge on a 0% block char can chain lock and kill.

but in certain matchups one's clearly better, specifically vs trappers or bowas where charge > hammer. and in other cases like vs a barb a libby with lower hammer damage should still destroy a barb, who you'd never charge. so libby is the resounding better build.

then it comes down to preference between 75 and 125 fcr builds. and your budget/items you can get. ladder 75 fcr builds with only dual spirits and an fcr ammy, 2x sojs, bfists, soe, pcrown, etc. are common and quite strong. whereas on ladder hitting 125 fcr is much easier using mages, a 20 fcr circ, vmagi is a lot easier. without a 20 fcr circ u have to use fcr rings or a belt to hit 125. and thats no good unless u have a really good honor runeword imo.

When killing opponents with charge, the best piece of advice i can give you is to type "Tofu1" after every kill, followed by a capslock laugh. It really gets the blood rushing

I have build mine like a pure hammerdin with 2 setups.

First one is spirit setup with frostburn + string + 2 sojs.

1875 hammer dmg, 1132 life, 1800 mana. Runestaff charge on switch 2,1 k dmg.

Other setup is 3 hammer / 3 conc honor divine with magefist + either 1 fcr ring or fcr belt if u don't need soe.

2200 hammer dmg, 1070 life, 1300 mana. 900 charge dmg + 25% ds with honor. For when u want to be able to charge with block f.e.

Full inv with 15/12s because i prefer the extra mana instead of the extra dmg for dmg scs, never felt like i really needed the extra dmg anyway. Having a huge mana pool is really nice tho.

Also using tearhaunch since you can't skill defensive auras on eu (not sure how it is on east?) so needed for vigor.

And i'm using a circlet on mine, so that's a must for these setups to work, not worth going for 125 otherwise like snipa said.

Also been playing with both prubys and pskulls for a long time but i really prefer pskulls.
