Was wondering what is best between 3x 24 max damage jewel or 3x20%ed+mods??

Depends what +mods you mean and what other gear you intend to use.
Most cases maxers do more dmg.

ww barb typically needs %ed from either armor or helm, most use helm as ed source since it typically does not change much/has lower str required than armor alot of the times

This also allows for different armor choices which are cheaper than new ww helms generally.

If you’re going welfare 20ed/6str or 18max/6str

You can get mb in shield by using 3x 20ed/9dex or 18max/9dex jewels

You should try to get as much stats from gear as possible so you can just pump all points in vita. Getting 2.7-3k life is best.
