The owner's manual for my 2011 Chevy Malibu calls for a severe transmission fluid change at 80,000km. Currently at 78,000km and I follow maintenance to a tee, including full synthetic oil changes. I usually change my own oil, but I can't do the transmission because I don't have the proper tools and/or expertise. The whole pan needs to be dropped for full change.

Today I called Fountain Tire where I usually get my tires done, and they said it would be between $200-$250 Canadian. They will drop the pan, flush, replace the filter, and refill. I want to make sure I'm not getting swindled.

Does this seem reasonable to you guys?

doesn't seem that far off if you consider this is USD

try getting a quote from another local shop to compare?

Just got it changed today. Shifts better than new. Glad I got it done despite the cost tbh ^_^

Going to a dealer will cost a lot more.
