because there was a ladder reset few days ago and i can imagine that many people
joined it and are still playing it - even those who usually stay non-ladder most of the time~

Im back from long break aswell and dont have any problems with finding duels with reaaally good players at any time.
The thing is games are often full or private so you maybe had bad luck.
Also you can always create your own game, wait few mins and people will come.
You can even add some edgy title like "Duel me noobs" or "Duel the king" and zealots will flock to you xD

Usually duels going on at all times.

Access thriugh open bnet or tcp/ip via d2ga.net

Ladder is not any more fair than non ladder. If everyone’s fg reset when ladder did, then maybe.

Yes I agree. Everyone has the same start but then items and bots eventually come into play.

My point is, he seems to be complaining about the unfair items people have. But in reality someone will always have access to better items etc. It's just the way it is with pvp.
