sup guys. Need some advice... below is my current build:

-ASUS Z170-A ATX DDR4 Motherboards

-Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)

-G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) TridentZ Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz for Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory F4-3200C16D-16GTZ

-EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5X, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6286-KR

-Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler, Black

-Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor, Socket LGA 1151 [BX80662I76700K]

-1 TB HDD internal

-850W Thermaltake power supply

-full size case not important

I am going to pick up a new SSD and possibly RAM. So my current SSD sometimes I restart my pc and it freezes on boot up (once in a blue moon) and it loads up on my old screen background which is really weird to me. I just feel like its dying or on its way out. Maybe I just need to format it.

So I am really not up to date with solid states or whats considered the best for storage right now. I'm also running windows 7 still (xD) and i need to upgrade to 10. I built my PC in Jan of 2017.

Just looking for upgrades at this point. At what point in time is it a good idea to rebuild my PC? It still runs everything fine, but I think I am going to upgrade the RAM and SSD... any critique is appreciated.

rams fine, only buy more if you need it
get a intel 660p 1tb m.2 ssd

rest is fine imo if it runs what you need.
if you want to start streaming upgrade to ryzen 3 otherwise your set for a few more years.

6700k perfect for streaming, still a really great card. I dont think theres anything that needs updating unless you want more ssd.

perfect, guess i will hold off for a few years then and yea probably going to go with the SSD recommended by King Atrhur. Could be just need to format my PC but w.e more space cant hurt.

Same as above man. Upgrade ssd to m.2.

Only thing I’d say differently is if you do upgrade your cpu, might wanna upgrade mobo to one with a better chipset. Just make sure you get a board with a good bios if you do get one.

That's one of the newest ones. This M.2 SSD, is like 3x faster than a SATA SSD.

/ee For comparison, this one is probably the fastest, right now...
