Same and I wish they would just make both. Also I don't see how even if they lost the original source code or art crap as being an excuse for not making D2 remastered. You can actually make the entire game from scratch without too much effort as it would have been 20 years ago due to modern game builders, you could even use the unity engine to do it. A modern platform D2 remaster would be what I would truly want over a D4.
Diablo 3 had the same hype and they also claimed to be listening to players etc - turned out to be a steaming pile of crap, I don't see how D4 would be any different
nope making a high budget game needs even more development then before. yeah you can make cheap games really quick for indie devs who have bought random assets or low poly or flat stickman 2d game. d1 and d2 are high quality 2d game with pre rendered 3d models. yeah the final sprites are quite low resolution but the art itself is great. if they want to remake d2 its going to take a lot of development time especially if they want to make it a 2d game and especially if its going to be 60 fps. so many stuff they will have to animate by hand.
and even when they do a full remake and its 2d its going to play different from d2. all the small unintended things that can be hard to replicate exactly will give it a different feeling. yea it can be done but its not an easy task like you say
but we could get something with the ai upscaling. im not sure the details but it might be possible that each sprite can get ran through the ai upscaling and it would be like having a remaster. just goog diablo 2 ai upscale the images are sexxy. but thats not in game footage just pictures ran through it
