Is there a difference between the 1997 aired version and the 2016 one?
The newer one has worse rating, just wondering.

Everything is different.
Animation being the biggest reason for the bad rating on the 2016 one.
The story In the 2016 one picks up after the 1997 one ends.
And after where the movies end.

Oh damn I started with 2016, will swap to 1997

'97 is the OG Black Swordsman/Golden Age arcs and probably the best when taking into consideration the absurd use of 3D CG in the movies.

1997 or the 3 movies cover the same material.
2016 is suppose to be the continuation with Conviction and Falcon arcs (but is even worse in quality then the movies)

tbh i'd just watch '97 and forget the rest exist and just stick to the manga.

I liked it better before the demons

Tbh berserk 2016 was a disaster on all except the music that was still pretty good. Berserk 1997 was and is still one of the best anime of all time ( i rewatch it once a year due to how good it is).

The netflix movies are okay but the 1997 berserk is still far above.the movies

2016 berserk is still 100% worth watching.
i loved it tbh

yeah, it does have some nice songs.
the 1st OP "Inferno" and of course there's also "My Brother" which i still have on a playlist today.
it's also about some of the only good audio you'll here too in the anime.
lots of it sounds pretty bad too along side it's terrible CG, Guts sword sounds like someone hitting pots and pans together. lol



it's good for a laugh and if you REALLY want to see an actual sequel to the Golden Age arc in "animated" form (i say that loosely)
