Trump focused on Kerr two days later, saying that the three-time championship-winning coach "was like a little boy, he was so scared to be even answering the question."

"He couldn't answer the question -- he was shaking, 'Oh, oh, oh, I don't know. I don't know,'" Trump said. "He didn't know how to answer the question, and yet he'll talk about the United States very badly."

"I watched Popovich -- sort of the same thing, but he didn't look quite as scared actually," Trump said. "But they talk badly about the United States, but when it talks about China, they don't want to say anything bad. I thought it was pretty sad, actually. It'll be very interesting."

I hate to be in agreement with Trump, but in this case, his criticisms are valid.

yeah most of the nba are hypocritical cowards, owners (sorry uhh governor, it is racist to own a business) players coaches all of them. group of multi-millionaires completely shielded by constitutional rights and extreme wealth while they slam America for being able to provide a platform for them to profit off of the near slave-labor, concentration camps, and freedom-hating hoarded communist riches that lines their pockets

Trump is doing exactly what he is accusing others of. He didn't even dare touch on the subject, he just switched focus on to Kerr and Pop.

Everyone is pussy footing around China, let's keep it realistic.

Kerr already explained why he didn't elaborate on the situation he didn't understand.

Keep in mind his dad was assassinated in an international incident when he was 18. Opposition fans of his college team were chanting P.L.O at him in the games following his death. You can understand why he is reticent in this situation. Especially considering the NBA teams are in China as this is happening. Safety first.

It's funny how people get mad at celebrities getting involved in things they don't understand, but suddenly people want athletes to lead the charge on something they don't understand. Something incredibly nuanced, in a culture vastly different to the USA. Keep in mind a lot of these athletes are dumb as shit. I'm glad they aren't saying anything, we don't need soundbites fed to them from PR teams.
